Selecting an Agent to Represent You as Your Buyer's Agent...

It is very important to select a well qualified, experienced professional real estate agent to represent your interests in your transaction. Some buyers/sellers think that all agents are the same and/or equally qualified and that is NOT the case.

Real estate agents are independent contractors. That means that they really run their own businesses within a real estate company. They each decide for themselves the level of service that they will provide.

  1. Minimum 7 years experience as a full time Realtor®

  3. An agent that is willing to take time to explain the process to you. Always meet with the real estate agent in their office first to review the home buying process and you'll get a good feel for how they work.
A few "Don'ts"...
  1. Never work with a friend or relative who is a real estate rarely turns out well
  2. Never work with a new or part-time agent. Doing so could cost you thousands of dollars due to their lack of knowledge
  3. Be wary of agents who are too "busy" to spend much time with you. You need time and personal attention!
  4. Never work with just "any" real estate your homework! You want a mix of experience, knowledge and professionalism plus a high level of competence.
